How Old Was Kris When She Had Her First Child

How Old Was Kris When She Had Her First Child

So, I was scrolling through some old photos the other day, you know, the ones that are so blurry and yellowed that they look like they've been through a time machine. And there I was, all smiles, holding this tiny human being who was supposed to be my responsibility. I mean, who gives a newborn to a teenager and says, "Here you go, kid. Good luck!"

That's right, folks. I was just a teenager when I had my first child. Now, before you start throwing virtual tomatoes at me, let me tell you, it wasn't exactly planned. But hey, life happens, right? And sometimes, it happens when you're still trying to figure out how to do your own laundry.

So, how old was I, you ask?

Well, let's just say I was young enough to still be asking my mom for permission to go to the mall. I was 17 when I found out I was going to be a mom. And let me tell you, the look on my face when I saw those two little lines on the pregnancy test was probably the same as the look on my mom's face when she saw them.

Now, I know what you're thinking. "Kris, how could you? You were just a baby yourself!" And you're right. I was. But you know what? Being a young mom isn't all bad. In fact, there are some perks. Like, for example, I got to skip the whole "trying to get pregnant" stage. I mean, it just... happened. No ovulation tests, no fertility trackers, just... surprise!

But seriously, folks, it wasn't easy.

I mean, let's face it, being a teenager is hard enough. You're trying to figure out who you are, what you want to do with your life, and whether or not you should dye your hair blue. And then, suddenly, you've got this tiny human depending on you for everything. It's a lot. Like, a lot a lot.

But you know what? Despite the sleepless nights, the endless diaper changes, and the constant worry, I wouldn't change it for the world. Because that tiny human grew into this amazing person who makes me laugh, who challenges me, and who makes me so incredibly proud. And I like to think that I've done a pretty good job, too. I mean, she's not in jail, she's not a serial killer, and she knows how to do her own laundry. So, I'd say that's a win.

So, what's the moral of the story?

I guess the moral is, life happens when it happens. And sometimes, it happens when you're not expecting it. But that doesn't mean you can't handle it. Because you can. You're stronger than you think. And who knows? Maybe you'll even learn a thing or two about yourself along the way.

And hey, if all else fails, just remember: you can always call your mom. She'll know what to do. Trust me, I had to.
