How Does Poussey Die In Orange Is The New Black

Hey there, fellow TV enthusiasts! Let's dive into the world of Litchfield and chat about that elephant in the room, or rather, the fish in the chapel - how does Poussey Washington die in Orange is the New Black?

Spoiler Alert!

If you haven't binged the series yet, grab your snacks and get ready for a rollercoaster of emotions. We're about to spill the beans, so consider this your final warning!

Poussey's Journey

Poussey, our beloved "Stormtrooper" with a heart of gold, has been on one heck of a ride. From her initial struggle with authority to her growth as a leader and mentor, she's become a fan favorite. But let's face it, life in Litchfield isn't always sunshine and rainbows.

In Season 4, things take a dark turn with the introduction of the new CO, Desi Piscatella. He's tough, he's mean, and he's got a serious beef with the inmates. Tensions rise, and a peaceful protest in the chapel turns into a powder keg ready to explode.

That Fateful Night

It's the night of the prison riot, and the chapel is filled with inmates standing up for their rights. Poussey, ever the voice of reason, tries to calm the situation. But as the chaos escalates, so does the danger.

In the heat of the moment, CO Bayley, overwhelmed and scared, accidentally suffocates Poussey while trying to restrain her. It's a heart-wrenching, gut-punch of a scene that leaves us all gasping for breath.

Why It Matters

Poussey's death is a pivotal moment in the series. It's a stark reminder of the harsh realities faced by inmates and the systemic issues within the prison system. But it's also a testament to the power of love, friendship, and standing up for what's right.

Her death sparks a wave of change, both within Litchfield and the wider world. It's a call to action, a wake-up call that echoes long after the credits roll. And isn't that what great TV does? It makes us feel, makes us think, makes us want to be better.

Remembering Poussey

So, here's to Poussey - the girl who loved her some Taylor Swift, who stood up for her friends, and who left us with a legacy that's anything but silent. Her spirit lives on, not just in the hearts of her fellow inmates, but in every viewer who's been touched by her story.

Now, What?

Feeling inspired? Great! Here's what you can do:
