When Does Planet Fitness Charge Their Annual Fee

Ever wondered when that pesky Planet Fitness annual fee sneaks up on you? Let's dive in, grab a smoothie, and chat about it!

Mark Your Calendars!

First things first, Planet Fitness charges their annual fee on your join date, not on January 1st. So, keep that date in mind – it's like your very own fitness New Year!

Monthly or Annual? You Choose!

Now, if you've opted for the monthly membership, the fee is waived. But if you're all in with the annual plan, get ready for that yearly charge. It's like a fitness birthday – but instead of cake, you get a reminder to keep moving!

When It Happens

Here's the big reveal: the annual fee hits your account one year after you join. It's like a fitness anniversary – but with a slightly heavier hit on your wallet.

Here's a fun fact: If you join on, say, February 15th, your fee will be due on February 15th the following year. It's like a personal fitness Groundhog Day!

Pro Tip: Set a Reminder!

To avoid any surprises, set a reminder for yourself. It could be a note on your phone, a sticky note on your mirror, or a tattoo (we don't recommend that last one, though).

What If I Cancel?

Now, what if you decide to cancel your membership? The annual fee is still due if you cancel within the first year. It's like breaking up with a gym – it's never easy, and there's always a little 'breakup fee'.

But here's a silver lining: If you cancel after your first year, you won't be charged the fee again. It's like a fresh start – a new fitness chapter, if you will!

Can I Pause My Membership?

Yes, you can! But remember, the annual fee is still due while your membership is paused. It's like putting your fitness journey on hold – but the fee keeps ticking like a metronome.

Why It's Worth It

Despite the annual fee, Planet Fitness offers a lot: Judgment-free zones, state-of-the-art equipment, and even a free pizza on the first Monday of every month (yes, you read that right – pizza!).

So, while the annual fee might be a bit of a surprise, it's all part of the fitness journey. It's like a little nudge from the universe, reminding you to keep moving, keep growing, and keep enjoying that pizza!
