Tuscaloosa Police Department Incident Reports

Tuscaloosa Police Department Incident Reports

Alright, gather 'round, folks. I've got a tale to spin about the Tuscaloosa Police Department's incident reports that'll make you laugh, scratch your head, and maybe even shed a tear - but only if you're laughing so hard you can't help it.

When Life Gives You Lemons, Make Lemonade... Or Not

Now, you might be thinking, "What's so funny about incident reports?" Well, let me tell you, some of these are stranger than a three-dollar bill. Take, for instance, the time someone called the cops because their neighbor's lemon tree was dropping fruit into their yard. I mean, I get it, lemons are sour, but calling the police? That's a whole new level of sourpuss.

And speaking of sour, how about the time a guy reported a "suspicious" vehicle because it was parked in front of his house for too long? Turns out, it was a UPS truck, and the driver was just taking a break. I guess he thought the "U" stood for "Undercover".

When You're the Only One Who Can't See the Forest for the Trees

Tuscaloosa's got some beautiful parks, but sometimes, beauty can be deceiving. Like the time a woman called the cops because she found a "giant, talking tree" in her backyard. Now, I'm no arborist, but I'm pretty sure trees don't talk. Unless, of course, you've been hitting the moonshine a little too hard. Turns out, it was just a really big oak tree with a really big knot that kinda looked like a face. Poor thing was probably just trying to enjoy some peace and quiet.

And then there was the guy who reported a "mysterious, glowing orb" in the sky. Now, I'm not saying it was aliens, but I'm not not saying it was aliens. Turns out, it was just a weather balloon. Bummer, right?

When You Realize You've Been Watching Too Much TV

You know, sometimes I think we watch too much TV. I mean, who calls the cops because their neighbor's TV is too loud? Apparently, someone in Tuscaloosa did. I swear, if I had a nickel for every time I've heard, "Turn it down, I'm trying to watch my stories!" I'd have enough nickels to... well, to buy a lot of nickels.

And then there was the time someone reported a "robbery in progress" because their neighbor was "stealing" their Wi-Fi. I mean, I get it, Wi-Fi is precious, but calling the cops? That's a new low. Turns out, the neighbor was just trying to stream Netflix. I guess he thought the "N" stood for "Neighborly".

When You Realize You've Been Living Under a Rock

Now, I don't want to brag, but I consider myself a bit of a local history buff. So, you can imagine my surprise when I found out about the time someone reported a "haunted" house. I mean, come on, this is Tuscaloosa! We've got more history than a high school yearbook. Turns out, it was just a really old house with some really creaky floorboards. I guess the ghost of ol' Tuscaloosa just wanted to stretch its legs.

And speaking of history, did you know that Tuscaloosa was once the capital of the Confederate States of America? No? Well, now you do. You're welcome.
