How Old Is Josh Gates From Expedition Unknown

So, there I was, binge-watching Expedition Unknown on a lazy Sunday afternoon, when it hit me - I had no idea how old Josh Gates was. I mean, the guy's been trekking through ancient ruins and exploring mysterious shipwrecks since I was still trying to figure out how to use my VCR. But seriously, how old is this guy?

Now, I know what you're thinking, "Why does it matter, MysteryFan? It's not like Josh's age is going to help him find the lost city of Atlantis any faster." And you're right, it probably won't. But bear with me, I'm curious, and I know I'm not the only one.

So, Let's Do Some Digging

First things first, let's find out when this adventurer was born. After a quick Google search (which, by the way, is a lot faster than trying to program a VCR), I discovered that Josh Gates was born on August 10, 1977. That makes him a Leo, in case you're into that sort of thing.

Now, before you start doing the math, let me save you the trouble. As of 2023, Josh Gates is 45 years old. That's right, he's been exploring the world and making us all jealous with his adventures for over two decades now.

But here's where things get interesting. If you're like me, you might be thinking, "Okay, so Josh is 45. But how old was he when he started all this crazy stuff?" Well, my friends, it turns out that Josh Gates has been chasing mysteries and adventures since he was a kid.

From Archaeology Camp to TV Star

According to an interview with Looper, Josh Gates first caught the adventure bug at an archaeology camp when he was just 13 years old. From there, he went on to study archaeology and anthropology at college, and even worked as a field archaeologist before becoming a TV host.

So, when Expedition Unknown first aired in 2015, Josh Gates was already in his late 30s. But with his passion for history and adventure, it's like he's been preparing for that moment his whole life.

Now, I know what you're thinking - "Okay, MysteryFan, you've satisfied my curiosity. But what about Josh's age compared to other adventurers and explorers?" Well, I'm glad you asked.

Josh Gates: Youngest Among the Greats?

When you think about famous explorers and adventurers, you might think of people like Indiana Jones (Harrison Ford) or Lara Croft (Angelina Jolie). But here's the thing - both of those characters are fictional. So, let's compare Josh Gates to some real-life adventurers.

Take Indiana Jones's creator, George Lucas, for example. He was born in 1944, making him 79 years old in 2023. Or how about Clive Cussler, the author and adventurer who inspired the Expedition Unknown series? He was born in 1931, making him a whopping 92 years old in 2023.

Even Leonardo DiCaprio, who narrates some episodes of Expedition Unknown, is older than Josh Gates. Leo was born in 1974, making him 49 years old in 2023.

So, when you consider that Josh Gates is one of the youngest adventurers and explorers out there, it's pretty impressive what he's accomplished so far. And who knows what mysteries he'll uncover in the years to come?

But hey, I've been rambling on about Josh's age for long enough. Let's wrap this up with a fun fact, shall we?

A Fun Fact to Tie It All Together

Did you know that Josh Gates is also a pretty talented musician? That's right, folks. When he's not busy exploring ancient ruins or searching for mysterious artifacts, Josh Gates is jamming out on his guitar. In fact, he even played in a band called Daddy Biscuits back in the day.

So there you have it - Josh Gates is 45 years old, and he's been chasing adventures since he was a kid. And when he's not exploring the world, he's rocking out on his guitar. Not a bad life, if you ask me.

Now, if you'll excuse me, I think it's time for another episode of Expedition Unknown. Until next time, mystery fans!
