When Did The Last Harry Potter Come Out

So, When Did The Last Harry Potter Come Out? Let's Dive In!

Alright, gather 'round, fellow Potterheads! Let's embark on a quick, fun journey through time to find out when the last Harry Potter book and movie were unleashed upon the world. Buckle up, 'cause here we go!

Books: The Grand Finale

First things first, let's talk about the books. J.K. Rowling's magical series came to an end with Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, published on July 21, 2007. Can you believe it's been over a decade since we found out who lived, who died, and who ended up with whom?

Now, here's a fun fact for you: The release was so anticipated that the book sold a record-breaking 11 million copies in the U.S. alone on the first day! Imagine the collective gasp of excitement echoing through bookstores worldwide. It's like the whole world held its breath and read the book in one giant, magical gulp.

Movies: The Bittersweet Farewell

Now, let's shift our focus to the big screen. The final movie, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2, was released on July 15, 2011. That's right, it took a whopping four years for the movies to catch up with the books! But hey, good things come to those who wait, right?

This epic conclusion grossed over $1 billion worldwide in its opening weekend. Talk about a spellbinding send-off! And get this: The cast and crew filmed the final scene – you know which one I mean – in reverse order. Isn't that just the saddest, sweetest thing ever?

But Wait, There's More!

Even though the main series wrapped up, the Harry Potter universe kept expanding. In 2016, J.K. Rowling treated us to Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, set in the same magical world but decades before Harry's story. And guess what? The fifth movie in that series is set to hit theaters in 2022. Talk about a never-ending magical adventure!

And let's not forget the Cursed Child play and its script book, which continued Harry's story 19 years later. Plus, the History of Magic in North America series of shorts gave us a glimpse into the American wizarding world. Phew! It's like we can't escape the magic, and honestly, who would want to?

So, Why Does It Matter?
