First Things First: The Books
Before we get to the TV show, let's peek into the books, shall we? "Anne of Green Gables" is the first in a series by L.M. Montgomery. But remember, these are books, and ages can be a bit... flexible, in the world of literature.
Now, Let's Talk TV
Fast forward to the 21st century, and here comes the CBC's "Anne with an E". This show is like a breath of fresh, red-haired air, isn't it? Now, Winifred, played by the delightful Dalila Bela, makes her TV debut a bit younger than her book counterpart. But how much younger, you ask?
Must Read
Well, my friend, let's do some math. The show is set in the late 1890s, and Winifred is introduced in Season 2, when Anne is around 13. Now, we know Dalila Bela was born in 2001, and the show started filming in 2016, when she was 15. So, in the show's timeline, that would make Winifred around 15 or 16 when we first meet her.
But here's the fun part: Winifred's age isn't just about numbers. It's about her spirit, her wit, and her friendship with Anne. She's wise beyond her years, and that's what makes her so darn charming, isn't it?
