How Old Was Jenna Ortega In You

You might remember Jenna from her role in Jane the Virgin, or maybe you've seen her in Scream (yes, the horror movie!). But let's rewind a bit. Jenna Ortega was born on September 27, 2002, which makes her a millennial, believe it or not. I know, I know, it's hard to believe someone so talented is still in her teens!

Now, You first aired in 2018, and Jenna joined the cast for the third season in 2021. So, when she started playing Ellie, she was... drumroll please... 18 years old! Can you believe it? I mean, she looks like she's 12, right? That's just great acting, folks.

Jenna Ortega's Breakthrough Role

Jenna's character, Ellie, is a tech-savvy teenager who becomes entangled in the web of the show's protagonist, Joe Goldberg (played by Penn Badgley). It's a complex role, and Jenna absolutely nails it. She brings this mix of vulnerability and strength to the character that's just captivating to watch.

But here's the thing, Jenna wasn't always a fan of the show. In an interview, she admitted that she was a bit hesitant to join the cast because she found the show a bit too intense. I mean, can you blame her? The show is a psychological thriller, after all. But once she got into it, she was all in, and we're so glad she was!

Jenna Ortega's Impact on 'You'

Jenna's character, Ellie, brings a fresh dynamic to the show. She's a stark contrast to the previous love interests Joe has had. She's not easily manipulated, and she's not afraid to stand up to Joe. It's a breath of fresh air, and it's all thanks to Jenna's incredible performance.

And let's talk about the twist at the end of season three. I won't spoil it for you, but let's just say, Jenna Ortega delivers a performance that's equal parts chilling and impressive. It's the kind of performance that makes you sit up and take notice. It's the kind of performance that makes you realize that Jenna Ortega is a force to be reckoned with in the world of acting.

What's Next for Jenna Ortega?

Well, Jenna's not slowing down anytime soon. She's set to star in the upcoming Scream sequel, and she's also got a few other projects in the works. I, for one, can't wait to see what she does next. This girl's got a bright future ahead of her, and I, for one, am excited to see it all unfold.

So, there you have it. Jenna Ortega was 18 when she started playing Ellie in You. It's crazy to think that someone so young can deliver such a powerful performance. But then again, Jenna Ortega isn't your average teenager. She's a talented actress who's just getting started, and I, for one, can't wait to see what she does next.
