How Old Is Smithy In Gavin And Stacey

Ever found yourself binge-watching Gavin & Stacey and wondered, "Just how old is Smithy, anyway?" Well, grab a cuppa and let's dive in. We're going on a little journey through time, sprinkled with some fun facts and cultural references. Ready? Let's go!

Smithy's Timeline: A Brief History

First things first, let's meet our man, James Corden, who plays the lovable rogue, Smithy. Born on August 22, 1978, in London, James is a year older than his on-screen counterpart. But let's not get ahead of ourselves. Let's rewind to the beginning of Gavin & Stacey.

When the show first aired in 2007, Smithy, or rather, Smithy's character, was 28 years old. The show was set in the present day, so Smithy was a young, carefree lad, living life to the fullest in the fictional town of Billericay, Essex.

Smithy's Age Through the Seasons

Now, let's fast forward through the seasons. Remember, the show aired from 2007 to 2010, with a special Christmas episode in 2019. Here's a quick rundown of Smithy's age in each season:

• Season 1 (2007): Smithy is 28 years old.
• Season 2 (2008): Smithy turns 29. Remember his birthday episode? Classic Smithy!
• Season 3 (2009): Smithy is 30. Yikes! He's officially in his thirties. But don't worry, he's still as immature as ever.
• Christmas Special (2019): Smithy is 41. Yes, you read that right. It's been a while since we last saw him, and he's aged a decade. But he's still our Smithy, isn't he?

Smithy's Age in the Christmas Special: A Reflection

So, there you have it. Smithy is 41 years old in the Christmas special. But here's the thing: even after all these years, Smithy hasn't changed much. He's still the same old Smithy we fell in love with back in 2007. And that, my friends, is the beauty of Gavin & Stacey.

In our fast-paced, ever-changing world, it's comforting to know that some things stay the same. So, the next time you're feeling like life's passing you by, remember Smithy. He's proof that it's okay to stay true to yourself, no matter how many candles are on your birthday cake.

And there you have it. Smithy's age, demystified. Now, go on, give Gavin & Stacey another watch. You know you want to. And remember, as Smithy would say, "You know it makes sense!"
